A Little About Me

Hello, I’m Don White. Raised in Georgetown, South Carolina, I discovered my natural talent for training dogs at a young age. Despite facing numerous challenges in my own community, I found my passion for the advocacy and representation of the misunderstood American Pit Bull Terrier. My experiences with scrutiny and suspicion, often due to the perceived intimidating appearance of me and my dogs, only fueled my determination to showcase their true nature—gentle and loyal at home, and fierce protectors when necessary. This passion eventually led me to focus on service and protection work.

Advocacy for Protective Breeds

My advocacy for protective breeds extends beyond mere training; I am committed to educating my community about responsible dog ownership. My efforts have transformed the lives of many, proving that with love, patience, and proper training, any dog can become a well-behaved and loving member of the family. This dedication led me to establish Tru Mission K9's, a professional training organization where I specialize in service and working dogs with a focus on loyalty, protection, and the vital roles they play for the disabled community, including medical, tactical, and emotional support.

Dedicated to K9 Excellence

Certified at the prestigious Top Tier K9 school in Florida, I now own a 20-acre property where I carry out my life's mission. My logo, featuring a protective American Pit Bull Terrier with a sheep at its heart, symbolizes my advocacy for looking beyond surface appearances and understanding the true nature of both dogs and people.

At the 2024 Handicap Help Haunted Accessibility Event, I will share my expertise on the benefits of having support while training service dogs for medical, tactical, and emotional assistance. I look forward to providing detailed insights into my training methods and answering questions from the audience, offering a unique perspective on the importance of support in the training process.

A Journey of Compassion and Advocacy

My story is one of love, compassion, and advocacy, promoting a more inclusive and understanding society. My work not only benefits protective dog breeds but also helps change perceptions about the value of service and working dogs. Through dedication, I aim to create a better world for everyone, one well-trained dog at a time.
